General Assembly 2010
Welcome to MOSS GA2010. This page provides the GA2010 event flow and the procedure for nomination of posts for MOSS Steering Committee, the electoral process and other related issues. We will keep this page updated to let you know the venue of the event as soon as we get the confirmation however this date and time of the event is already confirmed to be Tuesday, June 8, 2010. We would like to invite all the FLOSS enthusiasts to be present in this remarkable event as we would also be gathering ideas, suggestions and comments to formulate this years activity calendar. Mandate:
- Elected in GA
- Term: 1 year
- Requirement: 50 % of members attending GA (Other meetings 60 % of SC attending)

- Open for membership via news media
Proposed:
- Multiple Post's (below Secretary):
- Dedicated posts for specific functions
- magazine coordinator
- support coordinator
- etc.
Mandate:
- Assignment by Steering Committee
- Term: 1 year
Term for Steering Committee, Multiple Post:
- Elected for one (1) year
Proposal Change in Composition of Steering Committee:
- Would require change of MOSS Statutes in regards to number of posts:
- President (1) / Vice President (1)
- Secretary (1)
- Treasurer (1)
- Program Coordinator (1)
- PR Coordinator (1)
Proposal Multiple Post:
Advantage:
- Assigning Post gives responsibility/ accountability to members
Disadvantage:
- Assignment to multiple posts could overwhelm individual (possible relief from Multiple Post when Members/Manpower grows)
General NGO Requirements:
Govermental Recognition:
In All Meetings: President + 1 Secretary + at least one member attending
Importance of NGO: Number of Members
Recognition as NGO: min. 1 GA annually, Submission of yearly program report / audit report (7 founding members)

3.2 Specifications of electoral process:
- Self-nomination includes acceptance of Post if elected
- Once elected for post, candidate exits election for other post of preference
- Presidential election makes candidate with 2nd most votes Vice President
- Candidate for President can candidate for Secretary if he is not elected as president
- Individual can candidate (express Preference) for max. 2 post's in GA
- In case President is candidate with 2nd most votes in Presidential election, he is becoming member of the Advisory Council and the Candidate with the 3rd most votes becomes Vice President
